Seismic Behavior of Concrete Columns Confined with Steel and Fiber-Reinforced PolymersResults from an experimental program are presented in which 12356 mm diameter and 1473 mm long columns were tested underconstant axial load and reversed cyclic lateral load that simulatedforces from an earthquake. Each specimen consisted of a columncast integrally with a 510 x 760 x 810 mm stub that represented abeam-column joint area or a footing. The test specimens weredivided into three groups. Constitutive behaviour of confined fibre reinforced concrete under axial compressionAbstractSteel fibre reinforced concrete is finding extensive use in field applications. The mechanism of delaying and arresting crackpropagation by the fibres can be made use in passive confinement of concrete. Such concrete was termed as confined fiber reinforcedconcrete (CFRC). This paper presents an analytical model for predicting the stress–strain behaviour of CFRC based on the experimentalresults. A total of ninety prisms of size 150 ۱۵۰ ۳۰۰ mm were cast and tested under strain control rate of loading.
