Flexural behaviour of steel fibre-reinforced concrete under cyclic loading
Flexural behaviour of steel fibre-reinforced concrete under cyclic loadingThis paper presents the results of cyclic loading tests on fibre-reinforced concrete (FRC). The main objectiveof this research is to evaluate simultaneously the influence of the workability, the steel fibres and the compressivestrength on the flexural behaviour of FRC under cyclic loading. Prismatic concrete specimens havingdimensions of 150*150* 700 mm were fabricated with concrete of various workability and differentcompressive strengths (30, 60 and 80 MPa) and reinforced with hooked end steel fibres of aspects ratios of65 and 80 at contents of 0.5 and 1%. A four-point bending test with notched specimens was conducted usingDigital Image Correlation technique. The orientation of the fibres, failure modes,…
Influence of fibre distribution and orientation on the flexural behaviour of beams cast from flowable hybrid polymer–steel FRC
Influence of fibre distribution and orientation on the flexural behaviour of beams cast from flowable hybrid polymer–steel FRCabsttrract
The present study analyses the performance of full-scale beams cast from flowable hybrid polymer FRCwith regard to fibre distribution and orientation. To identify possible flow-induced effects, variations ofthe fibre contents and orientation factors were investigated along the length and over the height of thebeams. The study includes a comparison of the fibre distribution and orientation between standard specimensand full-scale beams, and the influence thereof on flexural behaviour and design assumptions. Forthe full-scale beams, it is found that fibres, even combined, distribute differently by type: steel fibres tendto segregate…
Constitutive behaviour of confined fibre reinforced concrete under axial compression
Constitutive behaviour of confined fibre reinforced concrete under axial compressionAbstractSteel fibre reinforced concrete is finding extensive use in field applications. The mechanism of delaying and arresting crackpropagation by the fibres can be made use in passive confinement of concrete. Such concrete was termed as confined fiber reinforcedconcrete (CFRC). This paper presents an analytical model for predicting the stress–strain behaviour of CFRC based on the experimentalresults. A total of ninety prisms of size 150 ۱۵۰ ۳۰۰ mm were cast and tested under strain control rate of loading. Theincrease in strength and strain of CFRC were used in formulating the constitutive relation. ۲۰۰۲ Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved….
